- Custom music customization consists of four simple steps:

 Step 1: Confirm your desired movement model. Options include an 18-note hand-crank movement, an 18-note wind-up movement, or premium higher-end models such as 30-note, 50-note and even 78-note movements. If you are unsure which model to pick, kindly refer to our guide How to Choose a Movement, or contact us directly via email.

Step 2: Send over the audio files you wish to customize. MIDI files are the optimal format, while sheet music (staff notation) is also ideal. These two formats enable faster and more precise programming. MP3 files, videos or web links can be accepted as secondary alternatives.

Step 3: We will program a movement-compatible music file based on your original file for your approval. This process normally takes around one week.

Step 4: Final confirmation. We always retain the original main melody from your file. On occasion, certain chord notes will be fine-tuned to match the mechanical limits of the movement.

If you are satisfied with the programmed version, or accept our minor chord adjustments, the development process will be completed successfully.

Should our revisions fail to meet your expectations, please provide your specific feedback. We will return to Step 2 to rework the arrangement according to your new requirements, until we reach final confirmation.

Please note that the timeline for revisions cannot be guaranteed. Multiple rounds of adjustments may be needed, and in rare cases, customization may not be achievable.

For your reference: Excessively dense notes, especially repeated notes packed too closely together, raise the risk of unsuccessful programming. In addition, fast-tempo styles such as rock music are generally not suitable for classic mechanical music box movements.

- What comes next once the development phase is finished?

If you have no questions about our programmed file, you may proceed to place your order. The lead time for your first order is approximately one month, as molds need to be manufactured for the cylinders of certain movements.

If you still have concerns, we can produce several handcrafted samples for your secondary confirmation. Please note that extra charges will apply for these handmade samples. Once you receive the samples and confirm they meet your requirements, you can place the bulk order with confidence. Should any defects be found after inspection, we will have to go back to Step 2 for re-development.However, this scenario is unlikely to happen, unless you change your mind, or you make excessive demands on certain details.
